HIV Law Project Privacy Policy

HIV Law Project (HLP) is committed to maintaining the privacy of each individual who contacts us. We are grateful for the support of all our donors and friends as they make the critical work that we do possible. As part of this commitment to safeguarding your privacy, we have adopted the following online privacy policy.

The information we collect

We do not collect personally identifiable information from you unless you provide it to us voluntarily and knowingly. If you make a donation, register for an event, or sign up to receive our newsletter, for example, we may collect your name, mailing address, telephone number, email address, and credit card information.

Visitor logs are used on this site for statistical purposes only. No attempt will be made to identify and obtain personal information about users.

The way we use information

If you provide personal information, we may enter that information into our database and contact you in order to:

  • Complete voluntary surveys seeking feedback for quality and service improvement purposes
  • Supply you with information, including HLP news, events, and services
  • Request voluntary time or monetary contributions to HLP

HLP will not share your personal information with any third parties. This includes name, address, financial information, and email address.

Our commitment to data security

To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect. However, such precautions do not guarantee that our website is invulnerable to all security breaks. HLP makes no warranty, guarantee, or representation that the use of our website is protected from viruses, security threats, or other vulnerabilities and that your information will always be secure.

Links to other sites

Our site may provide links to other sites where you can find out more about our donors and partners. Please note that HLP is not responsible for the information practices of linked sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of each site you visit.

How you can access or correct your information

HLP strives to keep donors informed about our work so that they can be sure of the importance of their donations in allowing our programs to continue. To this end, we send several mailings each year. Most HLP supporters want to receive all our mailings and newsletters. However, you may opt out of any mailings by contacting us with your request. You can access and review all your personally identifiable information as well as modify or correct that information by contacting us through any of the various means outlined below.
