CWHA ANNOUNCES FALL 2009 KATRINA HASLIP LAW TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
HIV Law Project is pleased to announce our fall 2009 Katrina Haslip Law Technical Assistance Program (Law TAP). This series is part of the Center for Women & HIV Advocacy at the HIV Law Project. Law TAP was created in 1993 and dedicated in memory of Katrina Haslip, a fierce advocate for HIV-positive women. Katrina believed that HIV-positive women were their own best advocates and spokespeople. She also believed that a peer-based approach to outreach and advocacy was crucial to ending the HIV epidemic.
Law TAP continues Katrina’s legacy by providing low-income, HIV-positive women the training and knowledge they need to become successful advocates for themselves. Legal issues covered include: government benefits, housing, family law and confidentiality.
Law TAP is a six week program. It is open only to HIV-positive women.
Classes meet every Tuesday from 6–8 p.m. at the HIV Law Project office.
Classes run from October 13 to November 17, 2009.
Please help us spread the word. Download the flyer and application and share it with your friends, family and community!
