In Today's In-Brief:
This Holiday Season Give the Gift of Justice!
This Holiday Season Give the Gift of Justice!
It can be hard to empathize with people living with HIV/AIDS without having seen their faces.
We see them every day at HIV Law Project. We see the faces of HIV-positive mothers seeking legal help so they can have visitation rights with their children. We see the faces of young people filled with despair and sadness because they have been “let go” from their jobs upon disclosing their HIV status. We see the face of a gay man who is being unlawfully evicted from the apartment he has lived in all his life. We see the faces of HIV/AIDS. They are faces of hurt, sometimes anger, but most of the time they are faces of hope.
Every person that comes to HIV Law Project is treated with dignity, respect and a warm welcome. Our dedicated staff takes the time with each client to unpack the complexity of barriers and pressures in their lives. Our objective is to meet the immediate legal needs of individual clients, eliminate injustices and barriers to services and improve the quality of life of people living with HIV/AIDS.
This holiday season give the gift of justice and hope. You can help bring about genuine and lasting change in the lives of people living with HIV/AIDS. You may not see their faces on the news or hear their plea on the radio or read about their daily struggles in the newspapers. The reality, however, is that there are over 1 million Americans living with HIV/AIDS. Most of them are poor, live in big cities and are marginalized by society.
Join us in combating discrimination, stigma and fear. Join us in combating denial, homophobia and racism. Join us in making the community where you work and live a safe and welcoming place for women, men and children living with HIV/AIDS. Let us be the generation that carries the messages of hope, courage and faith in our common humanity.

"I give $150 a month through automatic deductions to HIV Law Project. These tough financial times have actually inspired me to dig a bit deeper in my pockets to help out. I know my end-of-year tax-deductible donation can go a long way in the fight for the rights of people living with HIV/AIDS"

"HIV Law Project’s work is carried out within the context of a vision – a vision for a cure for AIDS.
Until then, we work to ensure people living with HIV/AIDS are treated with respect and dignity and allowed to live their lives to the fullest.
